Strawberry Skewers
In Ayurveda, the tastes associated with strawberries are sour, sweet, astringent. They are heating and pungent when digested. In moderation, they are suitable for all doshas but more suitable for Vata dosha.
The best way to enjoy strawberries is eat them alone. Buy organic and wash well. Do not mix strawberries with other food, especially milk, yogurt, or honey. Best time to eat fruit is in the morning on an empty stomach.Ideally, as a snack at least two hours after or an hour before a meal. Not as a dessert. If eaten on an empty stomach, fruit plays a major role in enabling the body to detoxifying the system, supplying the body with plenty of energy. If eaten with grains and other foods, fruit would ferment as the digestive process is faster.
Ingredients
2 cups Strawberries (tops removed)
3 Barbecue Skewers
1/3 cup Dark Chocolate Chips
Directions
Thread the strawberries onto the skewers.
Add the chocolate chips to a small bowl and using a double boiler warm until melted. Stir with a spoon to fully combine. Drizzle the melted chocolate on the strawberry skewers. Enjoy! Top with coconut flakes. Or add whipped coconut cream.
